Uprooted & Replanted

I have a garden that I started getting serious about this year. I brought everything that I needed for it to be a success and my husband created a beautiful space for me to plant. What I’m learning is that a garden is “patient work”. There are no immediate results and definitely No guarantees! So I decided what I wanted to plant and then I decided when, according to the weather, I should plant. The first step was to prepare the ground because a good foundation is the key. This step is critical if you want to reap a good harvest. I can totally relate that to life, our foundation is everything!

So I pulled weeds, got rid of rocks and made that Georgia clay as smooth as I could get it to be. Next I covered it with some weed prevention to keep me from having a lot of weeds to pull while my vegetables grew. I brought the best soil I could get so my vegetables would be big and delicious. During this time, I planted my vegetable seeds. I watered them, gave the plenty of sunshine and kept them warm until it was time to put them in the ground. Side note: We have a new dog who is a 7 month plot hound. He loves to dig where he is not supposed to dig! We put up bird wire around the garden so that our curious dog wouldn’t find his way into my garden.

The day came where my vegetables had sprouted and the ground was a stable temperature so it was time to put them into the ground. I carefully planned out what vegetables would grow together in what area, got my trowel and gloves ready, and I planted my sprouts lovingly in the ground.

I checked on them daily making sure there were no weeds, no mushrooms growing wild, and plenty of water. Soon I noticed growth emerging from the ground! I was so excited and could already tastes the yummy vegetables I grew! My dog was excited too. He would sit close by watching for a chance to explore what I was doing in that pretty brown dirt. So one day he got in, ripped a hole in the bird wire and proceeded to dig. I was so upset! I found many of my new sprouts uprooted, and overturned. I punished him by getting him a new leash and a stationary pole which he only has access to a small area.

This taught me so much about life. Sometimes we plan, prepare, make ready a life that we expect to have only to have everything change, our plans uprooted. Now what? What do we do? Do we punish ourselves for things not turning out how we planned, or do we sulk and become depressed? Our plans may be uprooted for a window of time, but there is always a “Now What” to follow. We have to allow new plans, new ideas, new roots to form in order for life to continue on, as it will with or without your cooperation.

Sometimes those moments are created by God to shift us into His purpose for our lives. We can’t get stuck in the uprooting process we have to return to a sense of intentionality. So, I got more dirt, fixed what I could, replanted, and now I’ll wait to see what survived being uprooted.

I Held My Breath

I held my breath and waited to see if Justice would be served, could this really be?

Could one man’s life taken away from him would really be called a sin?

I held my breath my heart in my chest skipped a beat.

Would the world we live in recognize life isn’t for one man to take from another just because.

What kind of world would it be if For ONCE our brown Men and Boys were FINALLY given equality?

What are they afraid of, what lies have they been told that make them feel superior, above others and bold.

We ARE TIRED!

WE ARE DONE!

Living below the line that you have drawn.

WE HAVE VALUE.

ALL lives ARE precious in His sight.

Judgement is coming, it is time for things to be made right.

I Feel Inspired

I feel inspired to write, but not all the time.

It seems like it comes on me when I’ve got a lot on my mind.

The inspiration takes over, and flows from my hands.

The words are like a symphony orchestrated by my command.

The words pour out onto the paper and truly astonish me.

Everything that is within me comes from my Father, it is He.

I may not reach nobles, presidents, or such.

My words are meant to reach those who read them, and feel His touch.

Every word I say, every word I write bring Him glory, be His delight.

For only then will I be satisfied, pleased, and fulfilled, knowing I’ve allowed His light to shine bright.

Everything Won’t be Easy

Everything won’t be easy I never said it would.

But if you lean and depend on Me I’ll bring you out good.

Your life will see ups and downs, everyone’s life does.

There are trials, and tests, things that wear down your trust.

The sun will shine for you although there will be rain.

The rainbow is your promise things never stay the same.

So pick your head up, put a smile on your face.

This too shall pass but don’t let the time waste.

Trust Me

I don’t know why you won’t trust Me, I’ve proven Myself to you.

I know that you can’t see Me, but I am in everything you do.

I have shielded you from the storm, kept you from hurt and harm.

I am just a prayer away, trust Me, I was there forming you in your mother’s womb.

Trust Me to lead you safely, for I know what is best.

You are created with purpose, and I’ve ordered every one of your steps.

Trust Me My child, I am your Father from up above.

My thoughts are to prosper you, and surround you with My everlasting Love.

Space and Time

I will give you your space, I will give you your time.

I am here for you when something is on your mind.

I understand you are hurting right now, and I don’t want to pry.

I will be a good friend to you, on my shoulder you can cry.

I know it is hard to go through life right now, but I promise it gets better someway, somehow.

I know your heart is broken, you cannot understand why, take your own time now and soon peace will be found.

I will give you your space and time, but meanwhile I’ll be praying that you will be alright.

I know you will recover, and you’ll be stronger too, for God will comfort you and hold you tight.

I Am a Woman

I am a woman, my complexities run deep.

I might seem alright on the outside but inside my true emotions I keep.

I am a woman, no other human is like me.

God took the time to fashion every intricate part of what you see.

I am a woman, I pour out myself to everyone that is in need.

Nothing is held back, nothing in reserve, I give unselfishly.

I am a woman, born to be free and born to lead.

There are many skills I have to do what is needed of me.

I am a woman, unashamed of who I am.

I may fall down many times but when I get up, I rise, I stand.

I am a woman this is true.

God created me to help my man, to stand side by side with him, this is what I do.

I am a woman, my heart is tender and it must be guarded.

When you hurt me I bleed, not outwardly but inward, and healing is the hardest part.

I am a woman, God ordained me.

He created me to bare children to raise my family, love others, and be happy.

Inspiration

Inspiration is the seed that is planted deep inside.

There is no set time for your inspiration to thrive.

When it hits your soul it produces a sincere drive.

To be inspired pushes you to do that thing that makes you feel alive.

No one knows just what they have inside.

Gifts and talents create a pathway, a journey of exploring the depths of your mind.

The world around can see what you produce, your seed of inspiration now in fruit.

Deeper though lies more of who you were created to be and what your inspiration will produce.

Look inside and see who you are, find that inspiration to move.

Create the life you were meant to do your inspiration is waiting on no one but you.

What Does Beautiful Mean

When I look at the very definition of the word, “beautiful” it means pleasing to the senses or mind, of very high standard, excellent. Is it possible that we have gotten this “beautiful” thing All Wrong? We often view beauty with our eyes only which is only one aspect of the word. “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”, is one phrase I’ve heard my entire life.

Beauty only viewed by the eyes is ever changing, daily. One day I might think a picture is beautiful and the next day I may not find it so appealing. Our view of beauty has been shaped by a culture which glorifies one standard of beauty which hasn’t evolved much since its inception. This is only one aspect of beauty! Beautiful can be used in so many faculties, so many different facets of life.

For instance when I hear a song my sense of hearing says “Beautiful music”, because it is pleasing to my sense of sound. Or I have tasted a plate of food that was “Beautifully prepared and presented”, yes my sense of sight said beautiful, but my sense of taste also said “Beautifully delicious”! When I touch a soft fabric, my mind says this fabric is so beautiful it is pleasing to the touch.

We have reduced a word, “Beautiful” to a singular meaning when it encompasses so many different senses. We have to broaden our approach to beauty as a whole society. We must recognize the young man who assists an elderly person as a “Beautiful human”. No matter what they look like, the act of compassion is “Beautiful”. A child who looks at their parent with love in their eyes believes they are the most beautiful person in the whole world. Getting back to those things, the totality of the word encompasses more, and we do that word a disservice if we don’t acknowledge All of it.

We were perfectly created in His image of Beauty so who are we to decide who is “Beautiful” and who isn’t? We Are All Beautiful! We Are All Beautiful!
