I Have an Idea

I am creating a downloadable course for anyone struggling with identity. In this society that we live in, identity is a major factor especially in our youth.

Social media has corrupted the minds of so many of our youth that want so desperately to fit in. We have a choice! We can either leave the responsibility up to the culture or we can redefine the culture with so much self love and acceptance that we create change.

What Does Beautiful Mean

When I look at the very definition of the word, “beautiful” it means pleasing to the senses or mind, of very high standard, excellent. Is it possible that we have gotten this “beautiful” thing All Wrong? We often view beauty with our eyes only which is only one aspect of the word. “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”, is one phrase I’ve heard my entire life.

Beauty only viewed by the eyes is ever changing, daily. One day I might think a picture is beautiful and the next day I may not find it so appealing. Our view of beauty has been shaped by a culture which glorifies one standard of beauty which hasn’t evolved much since its inception. This is only one aspect of beauty! Beautiful can be used in so many faculties, so many different facets of life.

For instance when I hear a song my sense of hearing says “Beautiful music”, because it is pleasing to my sense of sound. Or I have tasted a plate of food that was “Beautifully prepared and presented”, yes my sense of sight said beautiful, but my sense of taste also said “Beautifully delicious”! When I touch a soft fabric, my mind says this fabric is so beautiful it is pleasing to the touch.

We have reduced a word, “Beautiful” to a singular meaning when it encompasses so many different senses. We have to broaden our approach to beauty as a whole society. We must recognize the young man who assists an elderly person as a “Beautiful human”. No matter what they look like, the act of compassion is “Beautiful”. A child who looks at their parent with love in their eyes believes they are the most beautiful person in the whole world. Getting back to those things, the totality of the word encompasses more, and we do that word a disservice if we don’t acknowledge All of it.

We were perfectly created in His image of Beauty so who are we to decide who is “Beautiful” and who isn’t? We Are All Beautiful! We Are All Beautiful!

Blessings~
